We are not a company that covers Union County from somewhere else. Our warehouse has been at 1098 Randolph Avenue in New Jersey, inside the county, since 1975. One county, two completely different moves

Union County is unusually varied for its size, and the job changes more than the mileage does.

Elizabeth, Linden, Rahway, Roselle and Plainfield are apartment country. That means a certificate of insurance on file before anyone is allowed up, a service elevator booked for a block of hours, permitted move-in hours, and a loading area rather than the front door. Westfield, Summit, Cranford, Scotch Plains, Mountainside, New Providence and Berkeley Heights are houses, often large and often old. Full basements, pull-down attics, detached garages, and a staircase with a turn in it that decides whether the sofa goes up whole. These are the jobs where an estimate made without a walk-through goes wrong.

Being in the county changes the estimate

Most quotes you get include travel time from wherever that company keeps its trucks. Ours do not, because the trucks are here. On hourly work that is not a rounding difference. It also means short-notice availability is realistic and that storage is minutes away rather than a drive.

Storage between closings

Closing dates rarely line up, and in this county they often slip by weeks. We hold inventoried, vaulted storage in our own New Jersey warehouse in between, so your things come out of the old house once and go into the new one once. More on storage.
