Would rather just talk it through?
A studio or one-bedroom local move is often easier to settle in one short call than in any form. The office is open 7am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.

Employee crews in University Van Lines shirts, our own trucks, and a written estimate before anything is loaded.

The questions people actually ask before they book a mover, answered plainly and without sales language.
An actual moving company. We are a carrier, not a broker. The people who arrive at your door are University Van Lines employees, in our shirts, driving our trucks, dispatched from our own New Jersey warehouse. Your job is not sold on to a third party you have never spoken to. A broker takes a deposit and then finds somebody else to do the work, which is a different business from ours. On long-distance moves we still pack and load with our own crew in New Jersey; a licensed long-distance carrier we partner with drives the truck, and you know that in writing before you book.
The company has been family-run since 1975 and Teddy took it over in 2026. He moved out of New York City a few years ago, is raising his family in New Jersey, and runs the company day to day. You deal with the office directly and with the same people from the first conversation through to the last carton — no call centre in another state, no account manager you never meet. Yes. Fully licensed, accredited and insured for the work we do in New Jersey and across state lines. Valuation coverage goes on every move we do; the level is set with your written quote, and you can waive it in writing if you would rather not carry it.
Local moves are priced from a room count and the hours the job will honestly take. A studio or a one-bedroom can usually be priced over the phone in a few minutes with no home visit at all. Bigger or more complicated moves are worth a survey, and we will say so. Every price is confirmed in writing before anything is booked. On hourly work you pay for the hours the job actually takes: if it runs long you pay more, and if it goes quickly you pay less, down to the minimum shown on your written estimate.

Small jobs are welcome and we do them every week. A couple of pieces across town, a single piano, a studio apartment. You do not need a houseful to call us.
