Two kinds of Millburn move

Millburn township covers both the downtown and the Short Hills side, and the two produce different moves. In and around the town centre there are older homes on smaller lots and apartments above and behind the shops, where the constraint is the street, the driveway width and sometimes a shared entrance.

Further up the hill the houses get considerably larger, with three levels plus a finished basement, and the work shifts from carrying to packing. On a house that size the packing is usually the longer half of the job and often a separate day, and pretending otherwise is how a crew ends up finishing in the dark.

Either way, the item list that matters is the same short one: the piano, the safe, the marble top, the gym equipment, the wine. Those are the things that change the crew and the equipment, and we would rather hear about them at the estimate than meet them on the day.

What we ask before we quote it

  • Number of floors, and whether the basement is finished
  • Whether you want packing, and whether it can run on a separate day
  • Any piano, safe, pool table, marble or gym equipment
  • Driveway access and how close the truck can get to the door
