Public agencies do not move the way households do. There is paperwork before anyone lifts a box, buildings that need a certificate of insurance on file, and a service the public still expects to run while the move happens. We have been doing this out of the same New Jersey warehouse since 1975.
Who we move
Public agencies are among our largest accounts. Two of our top ten customers this year are New Jersey public bodies.
Classrooms, administrative offices, libraries, furniture and equipment, worked around the academic calendar.
Departmental relocations, building consolidations and moves staged around renovation work.
Voting equipment and election material moved and returned with chain of custody.
Unit turnovers, resident relocations and authority office moves.
Departmental moves, collections, laboratory and office relocations.
Support for contractors delivering federal and state programs in New Jersey.
What makes a public move different
We are used to quote formats, W-9s, vendor onboarding packets and formal solicitations. Send us your bid documents and we will respond in the format you need.
Most public buildings, and the private ones you are moving into, require a COI naming the right parties before the truck arrives. We issue them as a matter of course.
Evening, weekend and phased moves so residents and staff are not turned away. Crews run Monday through Saturday.
File rooms, archives and sensitive material moved with chain of custody, and stored in our own secure warehouse if you need space between buildings.
Desks, server racks, workstations and specialised equipment disconnected, moved and set back up where it belongs.
A named coordinator from the site walk through to the final placement, not a call centre.
Why agencies keep calling us
University Van Lines has moved families and institutions across New Jersey and New York City since 1975. We run employee crews rather than day labour, we own our warehouse in Rahway rather than brokering space, and we are fully licensed, accredited and insured. References and insurance certificates are available on request.
Working with us
We walk the site before we put numbers on paper. If you are running a formal bid, send the package and we will complete it properly.
