Moving container loading & unloading

We load your moving container. You don’t lift a thing.

Got a container in the driveway? Our crew loads it the right way — padded, stacked tight and strapped so nothing shifts on the road — and unloads it at the other end.

Trained, uniformed employee crews
Mover-grade pads, straps and tools

What we do

Loading help, unloading help, or both ends

You rent the container. We bring the crew, the pads and the know-how, and we treat it like any other job we load.

📦

Load or unload

Any portable moving container or freight trailer, whoever you rented it from. Load-only, unload-only, or a crew at both ends.

🧾

Pad-wrap first

Furniture is pad-wrapped before it goes in, not after it is already stacked against something hard.

🔨

Take apart, put back

Beds, tables and the big awkward pieces come apart on the way in and go back together on the way out.

⚖

Stack it properly

Heavy to the floor, light on top, weight balanced side to side. A container that is loaded evenly travels better.

🔚

Strap and brace

The load is strapped and braced in tiers so it arrives the way it left rather than leaning on the door.

🔑

You lock it

We finish, you check it over and you put your own lock on it. The container company handles the driving.

PODS, U-Box, U-Pack, 1-800-PACK-RAT and SMARTBOX are trademarks of their respective owners. University Van Lines is an independent moving company and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any of them. Brand names are used only to describe the containers we can load.

How it works

Three steps

1

Tell us the basics

Which container company, what size, how many, and when it is being delivered.

2

We confirm the crew

You get a crew size and an arrival window in writing before anything is booked.

3

We load it

The crew turns up, loads it, and you lock it. Unloading at the other end works the same way.

4

Rather skip the container?

We also move people door to door with our own trucks. Get a moving estimate →

Why University Van Lines

Our own crews, not day labor

A container is only as safe as the way it was packed. The people who pack ours do this every working day.

Questions people ask about container loading

Do you work with any container company?

Yes — PODS, U-Box, U-Pack, 1-800-PACK-RAT, SMARTBOX, ABF and others. We load the container you rented, whoever you rented it from.

Do you supply the container?

No. You rent it and have it delivered; we do the lifting. If you would rather skip the container entirely, we can move you door to door instead — get a moving estimate.

Can you load at one end and unload at the other?

Yes, anywhere we serve. For out-of-state destinations we can arrange a crew at the far end.

Do you bring materials?

Pads and straps come on every job. Boxes and wrap are available on request.

Is a container cheaper than hiring a mover?

It depends on how much of the work you want to do yourself. We wrote the honest comparison — moving container or full-service mover.
